JV squads easily defeat Stillwater Christian

Both the boys and girls Columbia Falls junior varsity basketball squads thumped Stillwater Christian School on Dec. 7 in Kalispell. The girls won 41-27, while the boys won 68-43.

The boys were led by Justice McManus, with 11, and Grant Wallace, with 10 points. The Cats shot out to a 17-5 lead and never relented.

The girls were led by freshman Kiara Burlage, who had 15 points. Her sister Summer had seven.

The girls were up by just 15-14 at the half but out scored Stillwater 25-13 in the second half.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
