Milton Hochhalter, 82, passed away December 8, 2013, at the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. A memorial service in his honor will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 16, at the Anthem Friends Church in Hayden, Idaho. A private family burial will take place at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, Washington.
Milton was born June 17, 1931, in Bismarck, North Dakota, the son of Frederick and Louise (Koenig) Hochhalter. He attended Bismarck schools, served briefly in the United States Army, and spent more than 40 years in the banking industry in Bismarck, and Baker, Montana before retiring in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Throughout his life Milt was committed to building the Church of Jesus Christ, serving churches faithfully in each city where he resided.
Milton is survived by his wife Darlene; sons Bryan (Holly), Detroit, Michigan and Greg (Corrine), Edmonton, Alberta; brother Ted (Eileen) Bismarck; step-children Paula, Helena, Montana, and Shane, Iowa; nine grandchildren (Adam, Amber, Alan, Alyssa, Tyler, Eric, David, Andrew, and Karis); three great-grand children (Holiday, Halo, and Cameron); and two step-grandchildren (Conner and Maci).
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Reuben and Edwin, sisters Ruth and Leona, son Ross, and daughter Lynnette.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center for the superb care Milt received, as well as the wonderful support and encouragement from many in the Anthem Friends Church community.
