The grinch that stole Christmas has struck again, this time in Post Falls.

Keva Wolfe, 51, was in her living room watching television with her daughter on Tuesday night. The two briefly left the room and when they returned, Wolfe noticed something was not right. The blue and green laser light units that her husband installed as part of the family's Christmas display weren't shining into the room.

In mere minutes, the two units - value approximately $650 - disappeared.

"My heart just sank," Wolfe said. "It's especially upsetting because my husband put so much time into setting it (the display) up so that our family and neighbors could enjoy it. These people must have been waiting in the shrubs for the right moment to take them."

Wolfe told The Press Wednesday that she had been saving up for the "unique" laser units for two years, and just finished making payments on them at the end of November.

"It makes my house look like it is covered in emeralds and sapphires and it's just amazing," Wolfe said. "It's really cool looking."

Upon realizing the laser units had been stolen, Wolfe contacted the Post Falls Police Department, who responded and told her they would keep an eye out for them during patrols. She also told police she believes this was a calculated theft due to the location of her home.

"People don't just drive by our house," Wolfe said. "We are on the back side of the golf course in a really quiet neighborhood."

But prior to the theft, Wolfe said she noticed the same truck parked in front of her house several evenings in a row.

"I called my husband and told him I thought our house was being staked out," Wolfe said.
