ROYAL CITY - Red Rock Elementary Principal Theresa Eilers celebrated a surprise birthday party shortly before the Thanksgiving break, and all of her students were in on the surprise.

Assistant Principal Linda Achondo, along with the office staff (Secretaries Brenda Orozco, Gloria Romero, and school nurse Louise Andersen), arranged for the surprise.

All Red Rock Elementary students and staff came together in the gym while Eilers attended a meeting in another building. When Eilers returned, she discovered all of Red Rock Elementary's students and staff waiting to sing her Happy Birthday.

Throughout the day she was also given cards, flowers, and banners from the students, staff, her family, and many others.

"Mrs. Eilers is a one of kind principal who loves her students, and the students clearly love her too," Counselor Nicole Schwartz said.
