POLSON — Columbia Falls (2-0) stormed past Hamilton 76-44 on the second day of the Northwestern A/Southwestern A tip-off basketball tournament on Saturday.

Ty Morgan scored a game-high 22 points, hitting five 3-pointers in the first half, to lead the Wildcats. Columbia Falls bolstered its blowout with two big quarters, outscoring Hamilton 26-6 in the second quarter and 29-10 in the fourth.

POLSON — Bigfork (2-0) scored 50 points in the first half on the way to a rout of Ronan.

Christian Evans scored 19 points and three other Vikings scored in double digits. Bigfork led by 35 points after the third before coasting to the finish.

Rhett Duffey led Ronan with seven points.

POLSON — Defending Class A champ Stevensville smothered Libby (0-2), holding the Loggers to under five points in each quarter.

Zack Gavlak scored 15 points and Jared Schultz 10 to lead the Yellowjackets. Collin Johnson had a team-high five points for Libby. Jared Winslow, who had 33 points in Friday’s game against Ronan, was held to a single free throw.

POLSON — Whitefish (1-2) didn’t have enough time to overcome a two-point halftime deficit, falling to Corvallis.

E.J. Havens scored 10 points to lead the Bulldogs, which saw eight players score in the game. Senior Art Doorn, who scored 18 to lead the team past Hamilton on Friday, was held to six against the Blue Devils.

Alma Powell had 19 points for Corvallis.

POLSON — Cory Stanberry scored the first four points of overtime and Anaconda edged out a victory over Polson (0-2).

Andrew Weltz scored a game-high 24 points for Polson but the squad didn’t have enough to beat the Copperheads in regulation.

Stanberry finished with eight points and Caleb Stetzner finished with a team-high 18 points for Anaconda.

POLSON — Dillon outscored the Broncs by 10 in the opening quarter and held on late to stay undefeated this season.

Troy Scott scored a game-high 29 points to lead the Beavers to victory.

Frenchtown’s John Chapman had 21. The Broncs outscored Dillon 17-13 in the final quarter, but didn’t have quite enough to complete the comeback.

RONAN — Columbia Falls (2-0) held Hamilton to just three first half points as it ground out a tough nonconference victory.

Haley Belgarde and Ellie Johnson each scored 10 points and Winter Kemppainen nine to lead the Wildkats. Columbia Falls outscored the Broncs 18-3 in the first 16 minutes, and held on in a close second half.

Jaylee Albert led Hamilton with 13 points.

RONAN — Bigfork (2-0) blew away Ronan after halftime, outscoring the Maidens 30-11 to earn a big nonconference win.

Josie Spoklie scored 11 points and Mattison McAnally 10 for the Valkyries. Raymi Clairmont led Ronan with eight.

RONAN — Corvallis overcame a first-quarter deficit and outscored Whitefish (0-3) 33-12 over the next two periods to cruise to an easy victory.

Corinne Sanderson scored 19 points to lead the Blue Devils.

Haley Nicholson had a team-high six points for Whitefish.

RONAN — Libby (0-3) played Stevensville close in the first half, only to have trouble finding the hoop after the break.

Libby was only able to score nine points in the final two quarters, dropping its third game of the season. Taylor Quinn had a team-high eight points for the Lady Loggers. Libby trailed just 19-14 at the half.

Kayla Peterson had nine points for Stevensville.

RONAN — Courtney Moodry scored 20 points as Anaconda cruised past Polson (0-2).

The Lady Pirates held a 7-6 lead after the first quarter but weren’t able to hang on, being outscored by 20 points to close the game.

Jessica Bagnell had five points to lead Polson.

RONAN — Frenchtown held Dillon to just three points in the third quarter to build a comfortable lead and earn a nonconference victory.

Vanessa Stavish had a game-high 18 points to lead the Broncs. Audrey Schurg led Dillon with 11.
