COEUR d'ALENE - Jeremy Golding turned the tide at 149 pounds and Nico Moreno kept it going at 157 as the top-ranked North Idaho College wrestling team bounced back from Friday's loss to second-ranked Northwest College of Powell (Wyo.), beating fourth-ranked Clackamas of Oregon City, Ore., 24-17 in a dual at Christianson Gym on Saturday afternoon.
"Jeremy beating Kenny Martin really shifted the match for us," NIC coach Pat Whitcomb said. "He pretty much handled him and right after that, Moreno goes out in a great match and has a pin. It was good to see them bounce back, but we'll have to wrestle them three more times and we know we can beat Northwest and Clackamas can beat us."
Later, NIC whipped Southwestern Oregon of Coos Bay, Ore., 48-5.
Golding, Terrance McKinney (141) and Taylor Kornoely each won twice on Saturday by pin for NIC (7-2), which returns to action Jan. 16 at Highline Community College in Des Moines, Wash.
In other matches at NIC on Saturday, Northwest beat Clackamas 21-20 and Southwestern Oregon 37-9.

RANGELY, Colo. - Will Dorsey scored 21 points off the bench for the 23rd-ranked Cardinals, which defeated the Spartans in a Scenic West Athletic Conference game.
"We got up 10 early on and couldn't get much over that," NIC coach Jared Phay said. "We couldn't quite pull away, but we found a way to get it done and get the win. Will played really well for us and Bryce (Leavitt) did a little bit of everything for us again."
Leavitt had 16 points, six assists and two steals for NIC (13-3, 1-1), which returns to action Dec. 28 at home against Treasure Valley.
"It was a survival trip for us," Phay said. "We just wanted to get a win and get out of here. Colorado Northwestern is playing good and they'll beat someone in our conference this year. But we don't want that to be us."
Brandon Pasker scored 19 points for Colorado Northwestern (6-9, 0-2).
In other SWAC play, No. 24 Utah State-Eastern (13-1, 2-0) beat No. 7 Southern Idaho (12-2, 1-1) 95-85 in Price, Utah, and No. 14 Salt Lake (13-1, 1-0) defeated Snow (7-7, 0-1) in Ephraim, Utah.

RANGELY, Colo. - Freshman Kara Staggs scored 18 points off the bench on 7-of-11 shooting from the field to lead the 10th-ranked Cardinals past the Spartans in a Scenic West Athletic Conference game.
"She played really well after a disappointing night on Thursday (in a loss at Utah State-Eastern)," NIC coach Chris Carlson said. "She was just all over the floor and really played like a sophomore. She's good and playing really well right now."
Renae Mokrzycki had 20 points and 17 rebounds for NIC (12-2, 1-1 SWAC), which is off until the Lower Columbia tournament in Longview, Wash., where the Cardinals open vs. Tacoma on Dec. 27.
"Renae was a monster on the boards tonight," Carlson said. "That's one of the things that Colorado does well, but I'm glad we got the win tonight. With the whole Scenic West level of play, it was a good response from Thursday night. We came out more focused and ready to fight like we need to."
Julie Harless scored 12 points for Colorado Northwestern (6-9, 0-2).
