Chiefs skate into break on 3-game win streak

EVERETT, Wash. - Eric Williams had 29 saves and shut out Everett for the second time this season - both times in Everett - as the Spokane Chiefs beat the Silvertips 2-0 in Western Hockey League play Sunday before 3,976 at Comcast Arena.

Defenseman Tyler King scored his first goal of the season for the Chiefs, 9 minutes, 22 seconds into the game. Mike Aviani, who is second in the league in scoring behind teammate Mitch Holmberg, scored his 26th of the season 6:17 into the third period.

Spokane is now 4-0 vs. the Silvertips this season, including 2-0 at Everett.

Spokane heads into the holiday break on a three-game winning streak and with 44 points, tied for third with Seattle in the U.S. Division, two points behind second-place Everett.

The Chiefs return to action Dec. 27 against the Kootenay Ice in Cranbrook, British Columbia.
