Troopers behind pickup's disappearance

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a call Sunday from a person claiming his crew-cab pickup truck was stolen while parked at a motel in Marion on U.S. 2 West. It turned out that the Montana Highway Patrol had the truck towed because it had been involved in a recent hit-and-run.
There was a report of a Jeep Cherokee stolen from a location on Lone Fox Trail. The reporting party was pretty sure that a person who was intoxicated Saturday night took the vehicle.
A rock was thrown through a window at a business on U.S. 2 East of Kalispell, apparently to allow the culprit to break into the building.
A Browns Meadow Road resident reported that his 15-year-old daughter took a vehicle without permission and it was damaged when she returned. Later Sunday night, the girl took the car again without permission, and a stolen vehicle report was filed.
A .44 handgun was reported stolen from a vehicle on Helena Flats Road.
A Tamarack Lane resident reported there was an unruly man refusing to leave a residence. The unwanted man eventually left.
The back window of a vehicle was broken on O’Brien Terrace in Bigfork, but it was unclear if anything was taken from the car.
There was a report of multiple vehicles broken into and rummaged through on East Reserve Drive. Apparently tools, sunglasses and even registration information for the vehicles were taken.
Someone calling from Lindsey Lane reported that after a man had passed out, his ex-girlfriend stole items from the residence.
A veterinarian on U.S. 2 East reported that a cat had been shot twice with blow darts. The cat was being treated and was expected to recover.
A man calling from Hidden Valley Drive reported there were multiple charges on his credit card that he did not make. The charges totaled about $35,000.
A woman calling from a residence on U.S. 2 west of Kalispell said she saw a law enforcement officer pull over a vehicle near her home, and a passenger in the vehicle got out and ran onto her property. Afterward, she confronted the driver when he came up her driveway, and he claimed that his passenger was afraid of law enforcement. She told him to get off her property.
At about 5:15 a.m. Monday, there was a report of an intoxicated man having a fight with his teenage son at a Harmony Road residence.
Kalispell Police got a report Sunday from a woman who said her wallet was stolen at a store on Hutton Ranch Road, and when she immediately canceled her credit cards, she learned that someone had tried to use a card at two nearby stores.
There was a report of a woman shoplifting and then fleeing a store on U.S. 93 North.
A woman calling from Cooper Lane reported that her vehicle had been ransacked overnight.
A man calling from Fourth Avenue North reported that his girlfriend had beaten him up. The woman apparently struck him with lamps and her fists.
A GPS and a smartphone were reportedly stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Cooper Lane.
At about 1:30 a.m. Monday, a Third Avenue East resident reported that an unknown, half-dressed and intoxicated woman had entered the home. The woman was eventually assisted to her home on Fourth Avenue East.
Tools were reportedly stolen from a garage that was broken into on Northern Lights Boulevard.
A Fifth Avenue East North resident reported that her garage was broken into and items were missing.
A Two Mile Drive resident reported that a handle was broken off his vehicle door when it was broken into, and a new fitness watch was stolen.
Whitefish Police got a call Sunday from a man who claimed that his pickup truck was taken sometime Saturday night. The man said he thought the police might be responsible, and he was unsure of the vehicle’s last location.
There was a report of a vehicle rummaged through, with a wallet stolen, on East Second Street.
Columbia Falls Police got a report Sunday from a transient who said someone had stolen his clothes and his pillow.
