OTHELLO - Four people were injured Saturday afternoon near Othello after a Seattle driver attempted to pass a vehicle on state Route 26.

About 2 p.m. Saturday, Alexander G. Bahm, 21, was driving west on SR 26 in a 1999 Toyota 4Runner when he reportedly attempted to pass a vehicle about 2 miles west of Othello. When he pulled into the eastbound lane, Bahm swerved to the right to avoid a vehicle also heading west that was also attempting to pass, according to the State Patrol.

After swerving to miss the vehicle, Bahm overcorrected to the left, losing control of the vehicle and driving off the road. The vehicle then rolled multiple times and came to rest about 100 feet off the highway over a fence, according to the State Patrol.

Bahm and his three passengers, Kyle R. Stallo, 19, of Bellingham, Khanh T. Nguyen, 19, and Jason H. Eng, 19, both of Seattle, were all injured and transported to Othello Community Hospital.

All four in the vehicle were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to the State Patrol.

The State Patrol has yet to determine the cause of the crash.
