Hayes memorial event Saturday

POST FALLS — There will be a "Remembrance of Life" celebration in memory of former Kootenai County clerk and Post Falls police chief Cliff Hayes on Saturday at the heated Lions Club Grand Pavilion at Q'emiln Park.

A presentation will be held at 2 p.m., followed by free bratwurst provided by the Post Falls Community Volunteers. The celebration will run until approximately 5 p.m.

Hayes died of a heart attack at his Post Falls home on Thursday. He was 62.

Hayes was Post Falls police chief for 21 years before being elected county clerk in 2010.
