WALLACE - Jackie Reed, who was accused of killing her husband Gregory Reed Sr. in April or May of 2012 and leaving his body in the couple's trailer for more than a year, was released on bond Monday at 5:30 p.m., according to a spokesman for the Shoshone County Jail.

Reed's bond was cut in half for a second time earlier on Monday to $62,500 by First Judicial District Court Judge Fred Gibler during a reduction hearing.

Monday's court proceedings, which also included a motion for the release of evidence, followed a hearing in which a family member of the victim interrupted the judge.

Frank Reed, the brother of Gregory Reed Sr., rose up from the benches in the courtroom with pictures of his brother in his hand immediately following Judge Gibler's decision to reduce the defendant's bond.

Family, and those close to both the victim and Jackie Reed, occupied the first rows of the benches meant for those watching court proceedings.

Gibler told Frank Reed he could not speak during the hearing and explained to him that he had articulated his reasons for a bond reduction.

"We as a family do not believe justice has been served here today," Frank Reed said outside the courthouse following the 1 p.m. hearing.

Staci Anderson, Reed's attorney, bolstered her argument for a bond reduction with the testimony of one of her sons.

Chris Heidt, 29, an employee at the Lucky Friday Mine, said his mother could reside with him or his brother, if released. Heidt, who was questioned solely by Anderson, said that along with the support of their family and Reed's friends, his mother would be able to get to the courthouse for any future court proceedings.

Anderson, as well as her son Chris, described Reed as a non flight risk. Anderson said Reed does not possess the financial means to flee and does not own a car or passport.

Prosecuting Attorney Keisha Oxendine was opposed to the bond reduction and said that the bond of $125,000 was sufficient and fair.

The statements of both Anderson and Oxendine revealed certain details of Reed's case that have yet to be reported.

Oxendine said Reed shot and killed Gregory Reed Sr. in April or May of 2012 and allowed his body to remain in the residence for 15 months until search warrants were approved based on missing person reports.

In support of Reed and describing her defendant as a non danger to the community, Anderson said that Jackie Reed made no attempt to get rid of her husband's body or conceal it over the 15 month period. She said that Gregory Reed Sr.'s body laid where it fell inside the trailer during that time.

Anderson also stated that she has a "very strong self defense case" and that Reed was subjected to severe domestic violence during her relationship with Gregory Reed Sr.

Gibler also tabled a motion for the release of evidence of the scene of the crime.

Oxendine described Reed's trailer inside the Leisure Acres Community in Osburn as a property that is progressively becoming more of a biohazard and cited that it is an issue to the public's health and safety.

The property owner of the trailer apparently wants to destroy the trailer.

The defendant's side was wanting the jury to walk through the trailer to see the evidence first hand; however, Gibler said he would not send a jury wearing biohazard suits inside the residence where the alleged murder took place.

"I'm never going to ask a jury to do something like that," Gibler said.

The motion was tabled to allow Anderson and Oxendine a chance to take the necessary photographs and videos before the home is destroyed and before the case goes before a jury.

The conditions of Reed's release include a twice weekly urine analysis and some form of an electronic monitoring device, Gibler said.

Reed is next scheduled to appear for a pretrial conference on March 17, 2014. Her jury trial is scheduled to begin on April 1, 2014.
