POST FALLS - A truck parked in a Post Falls construction company's gated lot was reported stolen on Sunday morning and the suspect apparently rammed through locked gates to get away.

A 2004 Ford F-250 was stolen from Skyview Construction, 2905 W. Seltice Way, either Saturday night or early Sunday, according to a police report.

The truck was unlocked and the keys were left in a cup holder.

"Whoever stole the Ford rammed through two locked gates when they left the compound, severely damaging both gates," the report states.

The total damage to the gates was estimated at $6,000. Broken tail light lens covers and a broken padlock were recovered as evidence.

The trail of debris led north on Corbin Road away from the gate.

The estimated value of the truck was not listed in the report.

The truck was last seen at noon on Saturday and it was reported stolen at 8:22 a.m. on Sunday.

The employee who uses the truck said he had a recently-purchased jacket valued at $70 inside.

* In a separate alleged stolen vehicle incident in Post Falls on Sunday, a resident reported that his 1997 Acura Integra valued at an estimated $6,500 was stolen from the parking lot of his apartment parking lot at 955 N. Tubsgate Place.

The alleged victim told police he last saw the vehicle at 3 a.m. on Sunday. He said a neighbor said it was gone at 5 a.m.

The vehicle was locked and the keys were not inside, the victim told police.

At the time of the theft, more than $2,000 worth of items were inside the vehicle, including books, electronics, stereo and work boots.
