Although the points don’t show it, Bigfork High’s swim team is improving.

Coach Charlotte Ball was impressed with her team’s improvement.

“They all took time off of their events that they swam last week,” she said. “Two of the best time changes were in the 200-yard freestyle. Both Amanda Amos and Kayleigh Beaulieu-Henion took off nearly 10 seconds. I know neither of them have been excited about my putting them in the 200 freestyle race, but I think with their improvement they are understanding the potential I see in them.”

As a team, Bigfork finished ninth out of nine teams and earned two points.

Jessica Young got a point by placing 20th out of 31 in the 100-yard backstroke, while Cienna Degele earned a point by placing 16th out of 23 in the 100-yard breastroke.

The Vals were without Courtney George.

They compete in Missoula Saturday then won’t compete again until Jan. 11 in Missoula.
