Basketball roundup: Broncs defeat Wildcats

FRENCHTOWN — A strong fourth quarter allowed Frenchtown to upend Columbia Falls in a Northwestern A boys basketball contest on Thursday evening.
Frenchtown outscored Columbia Falls (2-1 overall, 0-1 league) 17-9 in the final frame.
Andrew Honken and John Chapman led a strong 1-2 punch for Frenchtown, scoring 19 and 18 points, respectively.
Ty Morgan topped Columbia Falls with 13 points. Jared Trinastich was next with 11 and Alex Presnell tallied 10.
The Wildcats jumped out to a 21-10 lead on the Broncs and led 34-24 at the half.
Columbia Falls hosts Flathead on Saturday.

BIGFORK — Christian Evans scored 30 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to guide Bigfork past Eureka in District 7B play.
Bigfork held a commanding 19-4 lead after eight minutes of play and closed with a 22-point outburst in the fourth quarter.
Chase Bohne led Eureka with 17 points. Trey Bohne added 10.

Stillwater Christian was fantastic after halftime, outscoring rival Flathead Valley Homeschool 39-21 to run away with the first meeting of the season.
Jaron Neumann scored 23 points for the Cougars, including 11 in the fourth quarter, to lead his team to the victory. Isaac Neumann had 13 and both Jeremiah Hashley and Peter Venman had 11 for Stillwater.
Josiah Sheeran led FVHS with 23 points. Jordan Sproul had 11 points for the Crusaders.

Lexi Ehlers topped FVHS in scoring with eight points.
