Lillian Elizabeth Harder, age 90, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Ivy Court in Coeur d'Alene, ID. She was born January 29, 1923 in Burns, Oregon to Glen and Gertrude Hughet. Lillian was raised on the family ranch in Burns. She attended school in Burns, Oregon and graduated from Crane High School in Burns. She was the oldest of three children. Her brother Donald predeceased her in 1984; her sister Lois currently resides in Alberta, Canada.
She married Frank Thomas on February 7, 1941. Their marriage produced two children, Kenneth and Glen Thomas. She later married John Crabtree. After his death, she moved to Idaho to be closer to her children and grandchildren, where she met and later married Fayette "Fay" Harder on November 3, 1991.
She was extremely active in the Hayden VFW Auxiliary where she spent several years as their president. She was also active with the Senior Center in Coeur d'Alene for many years, until her health began to fail. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs and her family.
She is survived by her husband Fay Harder; her sister Lois (Tim) Malpass; her sons Kenneth (Elaine) Thomas, and Glen (Janeal) Thomas; her grandchildren: Christine (James) Kraft, Denise (Mike) Eros, Kimberly McHaney, Victoria (Todd) Iverson, and Edward Thomas; eight great grandchildren: Katrina, Daniel, and Caitlyn Kraft; Brandon Eros; Cody and Hanna McHaney; and Alyssa and Austin Iverson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Glen and Gertrude Hughet, and her brother, Donald Hughet.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d'Alene. Burial will follow at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens on Government Way. Yates Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
