PRIEST RIVER - Jordan Brown made two free throws with two seconds remaining to lift the Lakeside Knights past the Newport Grizzlies 85-84 in the opening round of the Priest River Christmas tournament Friday.

Lakeside trailed by 13 points at the start of the third quarter, but rallied to take a 75-72 lead with 10 seconds remaining, but a 3-pointer from Jeron Konkright, who finished with 44 points, sent the game to overtime.

"I told our point guard to foul so they'd have to shoot from the foul line, but we couldn't get there in time," Lakeside coach Chris Dohrman said. "It was a good comeback for our kids and they played really well. Konkright is an unbelievable player. We were all over him and he was making shots all over the place."

Doug Schatz scored 27 points for Lakeside (5-2), which faces Priest River in tonight's championship game at 7 p.m. Priest River beat Selkirk 61-45.
