Schoening drops 25 points on Badgers

SANDPOINT — Sandpoint sophomore shooting guard Madi Schoening missed just two shots all night, pouring in 25 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 51-17 dispatching of the Badgers on Friday night before more than 1,600 fans taking in the Moose Madness festivities at Les Rogers Court.

Schoening was 9-9 from the field in two-point attempts, many on fast breaks created by the Bulldogs full-court press, and 2-4 from beyond the arc, helping the Bulldogs (6-5) build a commanding 38-8 halftime lead.

“A strong first half put improved skills on display for the home crowd,” said Bulldogs head coach Bill Bender.

Emma Kelly had six points to lead the Badgers.

Sandpoint hosts East Valley today, with tipoff at 4:15 p.m.
