Seven acres vacant for three years north of Super 1 Foods along Highway 95 are full with an array of recreational vehicles.

Moving its sales area from the north end of Hayden, Blue Dog RV offers more than 36 makes and 1,000 models of new and preowned motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, campers and tent trailers. The parts, accessories and service portions of the business remain at the Hayden site.

The company started in 2008 and has grown into the nation's third largest travel trailer dealer and largest in the Northwest with five locations, including its 14-acre place along Seltice Way in Post Falls.

With 10 employees, key people at the new site are Jeff Zemp, general sales director; Steve Khoma, sales manager, and Tom Hanan, finance manager. Phone 772-7100. Check www.bluedogrv.com.

Quality Auto, Marine Repair on Hanley

Growth also prompted the move of Quality Auto and Marine Repair from Northwest Boulevard to 108 E. Hanley Ave. The new site offers more parking, security, accessibility and boat storage.

Owners Ben and Andrea Doyle and mechanic Andy offer more than 20 years each of experience in repairs and knowledge of parts and accessories. They service all makes and models of vehicles and boats.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays by appointment. Phone 664-2260 or 772-2267. Check www.qualityautoandmarinerepair.com or www.qualitymarinepartsandaccessories.com.

Fibers First in Post Falls

The custom processing of and for fibers is the business of Fibers First in Unit B at 5450 E. Seltice Way, Post Falls.

Owner-manager Karen Goodson explains the business: "Customers bring us fiber (sheep wool, alpaca, mohair, llama, etc.) that we clean and process through our equipment to turn it into roving, which is then ready to be spun into yarn."

The equipment includes a 1940s picker that open and separates the fiber for the 1910s carder machines that align the fibers for the pin drafters into uniform roving (bundles of fibers).

Goodson leads the local 40-member Log Cabin Spinners group and is district director of the Northwest Regional Spinners Association. Husband Lowell helps with the bookkeeping and machines as does son Josh and his wife Alicia.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays or by appointment. Phone 773-8384 or 651-1246. Email [email protected]. A website is coming soon. Shop tours can be arranged.

New professional building opens

Three businesses are in it and space is available for another in the new 607 Professional Building at 607 E. Sixth Ave., Post Falls.

The occupants are architect and builder ML Architects, Cobra Wire and Signal Point Marketing with owners Mark Latham, Mike Goggin and Tom Latham. A 500-square-foot space is available, and the upstairs suites share a common lobby in the two-level, 3,500-square-foot building. Phone Goggin at 777-0808.

Now for today's Tidbits:

- We'll soon have details on occupants coming into Crossroads (the WinCo complex).

- Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre's new box office opens Jan. 2 in Unit 105 at 4951 Building Center Drive (off Kathleen Avenue by Charter Academy). Phone 660-2958. Check www.cdasummertheatre.com. Next summer's shows at the Kroc Center are "My Fair Lady" and "The Addams Family."

- A sign on Fiesta Mexican restaurant at Best and Fourth says it's closing Feb. 28. Darn. It has my favorite meal of shrimp and mushrooms in a cream sauce.

- In a church bulletin: "The Low Self-Esteem Group meets 7 p.m. Thursday. Please use the back door."

- Merry Christmas to all! Be kind, thoughtful and safe. I remember last year when I'm next in line with my grandkids to tell Santa what we want for Christmas and the little boy in front of us tells him: "I want to know my real dad."
