More anonymous gifts pour in
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 12 years, 4 months AGO
The 2013 Press Christmas for All program is down to the final hours of its frenetic fundraising drive. And there's still a way to go.
As today's graphic attests, just more than $57,000 is needed to reach the goal of $190,000. There isn't much time left in the official campaign. Press offices close today at 1 p.m., but that doesn't mean donations will be cut off at that time.
Every year, contributors step forward on Christmas Day and for several days afterward. That's why we won't claim victory or admit defeat until all the cheering is over and the final contributions are tallied. We expect to have those numbers on Friday, Jan. 3.
In the meantime, four more individuals came forward - anonymously - on Monday, donating $1,000 each and pushing Anonymous in Athol's gift even higher. On Friday, four selfless souls pitched in, so the Anonymity Pot is up to $8,000. A in A, as he's known around here, is matching anonymous $1,000 donations in an attempt to help Press Christmas for All reach its goal. He said he'll go up to $12,000, so another four $1,000 contributions would work wonders.
If you haven't given yet or would like to add to what you've already given, credit card donations are accepted at www.christmasforallcda.com. Checks can also be mailed to:
