A 38-year-old Kalispell man spent Christmas in jail after being charged with burglary, kidnapping and unlawful restraint after an overnight altercation at a Troy mobile home.

Jeffrey Freund, 38, has been charged in the case that began Monday evening and was resolved by 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24. The case involved a Libby woman that Freund took to the Troy mobile home and allegedly assaulted.

Lincoln County Sheriff Roby Bowe confirmed the case Thursday, but would not disclose the identity of the woman, who was taken to St. John’s Lutheran Hospital.

“We know she was an ex-girlfriend of his,” Bowe said. “He says she went willingly. She says she did not. This case is still under investigation.”

Freund is jailed at the Linocln  County jail.
