COEUR d'ALENE - Post Falls has the ability to play at a fast pace or a slow pace, depending on what its opponents' strengths are.

On Friday at Rolly Williams Court, the Trojans took what Central Kitsap of Riverdale, Wash. gave them and scored several points in transition, in a 63-51 win in the sixth annual Coeur d'Alene Inn-vitational.

Post Falls led in a close first half, 32-30. But it was 50-44 after the third quarter and the Trojans (6-3) outscored the Cougars (4-6) 13-7 in the fourth quarter.

Max McCullough helped lead the fast break charges for scores. He tied Dalton Thompson with a team-high 13 points and four assists. Matt Hillman and Thompson each had seven rebounds, Luke Anderson grabbed six rebounds.

"We just played good defense, boxed out and we got out to the races," McCullough said. "We like to do what they're trying not to make us do, kind of surprise them a little bit."

Nick Hall and Corey Koski each added 10 points for Post Falls.

Andrew Schwieterman led Central Kitsap in scoring with 17 points and quickly answered with several layups on the other end of Trojan baskets.

"Central Kitsap, they're gamers," Post Falls coach Mike McLean said. "They get upt and down, they like to have two defenders trail to their end and cherry pick us a bit. We don't mind playing fast. I feel comfortable with those guys (Thompson and McCullough) with the ball in their hands."

The Trojans conclude the tournament against Kelowna tonight at 7 p.m.

Coeur d'Alene shot 31 of 54 from the field.

"We were a lot better defending, rebounding and sharing the ball," Vikings coach Kurt Lundblad said. "Those are the three things we emphasize every day in practice. If you were open, you got the ball. We probably had more assists in the first half than we did all of last night (in a 61-51 win Thursday over Central Kitsap)."
