EVERETT, Wash. - The Post Falls Trojans used their reserves to rally from an 11-point deficit midway through the third quarter to beat the Shorewood High Thunderbirds of Shoreline (Wash.) 62-55 in the championship game of the second Archbishop Murphy High Holiday tournament on Saturday afternoon.
Post Falls has won both years of the tournament.
"They played great," Post Falls coach Marc Allert said of the rally. "All five starters were on the bench and stayed in until halfway through the fourth quarter when they ran out of gas. It was a good team win for us."
Hannah Bodman had 12 points and eight rebounds, Shayna Allert 12 points for Post Falls (8-6), which hosts Colville on Friday.
Taryn Shelley and Lily Gustafson had 12 points each for Shorewood.
"Their big kids really hurt us in the first half, but we played a lot better defense in the second half," Allert said. "Maddie King, Tiler Kyle and Kim Reynolds came off the bench and did a really good job."

KIRKLAND, Wash. - Olivia Maryon nailed three 3-pointers and scored a team-high 13 points for Lake City, but host Juanita jumped out to a 15-4 lead after the first quarter, beating the Timberwolves, 60-44 in the Juanita Tournament.
"They were hands-down the best team we have played," Lake City coach Bryan Kelly said. "They jumped out on us quickly. We had trouble handling the ball, we buried ourselves in a hole. We started to battle back. In the second and fourth quarters, we played very well. Their guards were very fast, their post (6-foot-3 Jaisa Nunn) was very physical. I thought Madi Farrell played well against her."
Farrell scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds for Lake City (8-4).
Freshman point guard Tea Adams scored a game-high 20 points for Juanita (9-0).
Lake City plays Holy Names of Seattle in the Juanita Tournament at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.

They led us offensively, they did a good job putting the ball in the hole. Our defense created our offense, so that was good to see."
