MINOT, ND. - The Wenatchee Wild hit the road before Christmas for a two-game set against the Minot Minotauros.

Wenatchee split its two games losing 2-0 Friday and shutting out Minot 3-0 Saturday. The team is now 15-13-3 so far this season.

"Much better all-around team effort," head coach Bliss Littler said after Saturday's win. "Much better, We had contributions on all four lines and our team played well and obviously, that starts with your goalie. Chase Perry, he made some big saves in the first or we could have been playing catch up hockey. It was nice to see him play well and get the shutout."

Perry recorded 24 saves in the shutout win.

In the first meeting, Wenatchee was outshot 26-22 and was 0/3 on the power play.

The team was able to rebound the next night with two goals in the second period by Nicholas Rivera and Jakob Ahlgren. Mike Coyned slipped behind the Minot defense in the third period and back handed a goal past the Minotauros goalie to secure the 3-0 win.

"Overall, I'm pretty happy with the first half (of the season)," Littler said. "Pretty happy with the first half right now. We're excited to let the kids go on break here and then come back at the end of the month, excited to get after it, to get better."

The Wild returns home for a pair of games against Fairbanks on Jan. 3 and 4.
