Dog situation misunderstood

An Airport Road resident complained to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that a neighbor had been buying dogs from California and was ignoring the dogs in Flathead County, and wanted to lodge a complaint about future barking dogs. The neighbor was found to have adopted three dogs from a rescue group and was taking care of them properly.

A Birch Grove Road man reported his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend called him and threatened to kill him. He told deputies to do something or he would “take things into his own hands,” saying he would borrow a gun and use lethal force if they showed up at his home.

A report of several shots fired in the area of Trails End Drive was found to be the result of a nearby resident shooting off fireworks.

A schizophrenic man sprayed another man with pepper spray on Pheasant Road.

A woman was reported to police after getting out of the passenger side of a vehicle in the drive-through of an East Idaho Street fast-food restaurant and going to the bathroom in the adjacent bushes while hooting and hollering drunkenly. A responding officer followed the vehicle and reported it was being driven appropriately.

A woman reported her daughter’s roommate assaulted her, pushing her down, punching her and kicking her in the face, when she showed up at the Seventh Avenue East North house to pick up some things.

A drunk tenant made threatening gestures toward a front desk employee at a U.S. 93 South property, reaching over the counter and trying to grab her.

A kitchen employee at a Central Avenue bar whose suspicions were raised by a quartet of young-looking faces in the establishment called the Whitefish Police Department to double-check the group’s identification to see if they were of age. All four were found to be of age.

A quintet of men on skis and skateboards, two carrying video cameras, were reported for doing tricks on a recently installed railing paid for by the homeowners association. The men were gone by the time officers arrived, and it was found that they had damaged the railing.

A confused Kalispell Avenue woman reported her vehicle was towed from in front of her home because it hadn’t been moved in days and wanted to know how that was fair as nothing was posted saying you have to move your vehicle.

Several people were kicked out of a U.S. 93 West property after having been asked several times to keep the noise down.

A pair of men and three women, all very drunk, were reported to police after walking around the lobby of a local hotel knocking over furniture and refusing to go back to their room.

A front-desk clerk at a U.S. 93 South business reported a man came out of the woods and started walking around all of the cars in the back before crouching down and hiding.

A pair of very drunk men were reported banging on the windows of a U.S. 93 South restaurant.

An officer gave a drunk person a ride home after the person was kicked out of a Central Avenue bar.

A hot dog vendor was advised to turn down music being played at the cart after a Central Avenue resident complained about the noise.


The manager of a Ninth Street West store contacted the Columbia Falls Police Department after a woman who shoplifted from the store the prior day walked back in. An officer stopped a vehicle carrying the woman after she left.

An upset ex-boyfriend reported he had sold his van to his former girlfriend but that she had stopped making payments and was two payments behind.
