ST. IGNATIUS – It wasn’t a pretty site for the Mission boys basketball Saturday night as visiting Bigfork manhandled the Bulldogs to the tune of 78-40.

Stuart Grant carried the load offensively for the Bulldogs with 19 points and Nikko Alexander added 11 in the loss.  Bigfork, who is the No. 1 team in Class B, used their size and athleticism to overmatch the much shorter Bulldogs.  The first quarter did however show that the Bulldogs could play with the No. 1 ranked team in Class B.  Mission got out on the break early and hit a couple of crucial first quarter 3-pointers that got the home crowed involved.  With Mission only trailing 19-14 after the first quarter, Bigfork went on to outscore the Bulldogs 59-26 turning a competitive first eight minutes into a rout in the last 24.

The loss brings the Bulldogs record to 1-5, 4-10.  It doesn’t get any easier for the Mission Bulldogs when they host Zack Camel and the district leading Arlee Warriors Saturday.
