EWU announces football schedule for 2013 season
Eastern Washington visits two bowl teams from the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, as well as travels to the the championship subdivision runner-up as the 2013 schedule was officially announced.
For the first time in school history, Eastern will play 12 regular season games.
The Eagles, who finished 11-3 last season and advanced to the semifinals of the FCS playoffs, open the season on Aug. 31 at Oregon State. Two weeks later, the Eagles travel to Ohio to play Toledo, then plays at Sam Houston State on Sept. 28.
Those three opponents were 29-12 overall and won 16 of 17 games at home.
Eastern's home opener will be Sept. 7 vs. Western Oregon and will also host Weber State (Hall of Fame Day) on Oct. 5, Southern Utah Oct. 19 (homecoming), Nov. 9 against Montana State and Nov. 23 against Portland State (Senior Day).
Game times for home games will be announced at a later date, but the Sept. 7 game against Western Oregon will likely be a night game.
