ROYAL CITY - Connell and Burbank were just too much for Royal High School in girls basketball last week, administering 68-21 and 60-22 defeats.

"We just go through stretches where we turn the ball over that lead to lay ups for the other team," coach Phil Daubel said. "We still haven't put a whole 32 minutes together."

Dory Floren was one of the Knights' leaders against Connell with six points, four rebounds and three assists. Her effort drew raves from Daubel.

"She continues to impress me," he said. "She played really tough and battled. It amazes me this is only the second year she has played basketball."

The leading scorer was Flor Araujo with eight points. Brittany Hebdon scored six. Kayla Smith had four rebounds.

Burbank did the Knights in with a 26-4 third quarter. The first half score was 31-13.

Smith led the scoring with six points. Hebdon had five and Araujo four.
