MOSES LAKE - Registration is open for business owners who want to participate in the Job and Career Fair at Big Bend Community College. The fair is scheduled for April 18.
Exhibit space is limited, so participants are encouraged to sign up early.
Traditionally the job fair has drawn more than 60 companies, in fields including manufacturing, food processing, health care, technology, aerospace, education, service industries and retail. Representatives from colleges and vocational schools also will participate.
In recent years the job fair has drawn 1,200 to 1,800 people. The career fair gives job seekers a better sense of what jobs are available, college officials said.
In an age when most of the application process has moved online, the career fair gives job seekers a chance to meet human resources personnel face to face, said college officials.
"There is no other event in the area where you can touch base with so many employes in one location in one day," said Deborah Correll, career fair committee chair. The career fair has its own website; participant information is posted as employees register.
Employers seeking more information or want to register can contact Correll at deborahc@bigbend.edu or at 509-793-2425.
