MOSES LAKE - Car prowlers hit several areas overnight Thursday in Moses Lake. At least seven vehicle prowls were reported.
According to police reports, five prowls were reported in the vicinity of the Moses Lake Clinic, including the 1600 block of East Hayden Drive, 1100 block of South Eastlake Drive, two on South Ironwood Drive and one on East St. Helens Drive.
The other two prowls were reported to have occurred somewhere along Peninsula Drive and South Battery Road near Peninsula Park.
An unknown subject attempted to gain entry to a vehicle on South Eastlake Drive.
The perpetrator was able to open a tool box on the vehicle, but fled the area when the car alarm was activated. Nothing was missing from the vehicle.
According to Moses Lake police Capt. Dave Sands, many of the cars were rummaged through and electronics were taken. Two vehicles were also reportedly unlocked. Entry was not gained to all vehicles, according to Sands.
According to one victim of the prowl on East Hayden Drive, police officers found the doors open to the vehicle and documents were scattered throughout.
Sands said extra patrols will occur in the areas hit and will be a priority for the street crimes unit. There are no suspects at this time.
