Eugene V. Koch, 70, of Troy

Eugene V. Koch, 70, a longtime Troy resident, died from natural causes Saturday Jan. 26, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital.  

He was born April 3, 1942, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to Edward and Margaret (Algeo) Koch.  He grew up and attended school in Troy.  On Feb 1, 1960, at 17, he entered the U.S. Navy. Eugene was honorably discharged on April 2, 1963, and returned to Troy.  On Oct. 26, 1963, he married Sharon Jellesed at the wedding chapel in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.  

They made their home in Troy, and he went to work for St. Regis Paper Co. in 1963. He retired in 2004.  Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon, in 1999.

He is survived by his two sons Curt Koch and wife, Rhonda, of Spring Creek, Nev., and Danny Koch and wife, Misty, of Troy; two  sisters Edna Lindsey and husband, Lamar, of Libby, and Florence Cook and husband, Johnny, of Troy; grandchildren Lacey, Nichole, Brandy and Brooke; and three great-grandchildren Landon, Lance and Callahan.

Services for Eugene will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Troy Church of God, 212 Kalispell Ave., with burial at the Troy Cemetery.  

There will be a visitation for friends and family from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home, 422 2nd St. in Libby.
