Artists wanted for miniatures auction

The Hockaday Museum of Art is looking for artists to participate in its annual Benefit Auction of Miniatures.
The event is a popular event that benefits the museum’s exhibition and education programs. The annual auction is scheduled for May 17.
Artists are invited to apply by March 16 by downloading a form from www.hockadaymuseum.org, found under the “Artist Opportunities” tab. Artists tare invited to submit one 9- by 12-inch framed or a three-dimensional piece of art during the week of April 17.
The commission agreement on 9- by 12-inch work is 50 percent to the artist and 50 percent to the Hockaday.
Artwork will be juried April 22 by the museum’s exhibition committee. The committee review will consider the artists’ mastery of media and technique, professional presentation and the overall success of the work.
Artists are also encouraged to create a 4- by 6-inch postcard-sized piece of art for the Wall of Real Miniatures. Postcard templates will be provided, and the works are a 100 percent donation to the museum.
All pieces will be on exhibit at the Hockaday from April 25 through May 17. Artwork will be sold via silent auction at the Hockaday from 6 to 9 p.m. May 17. Participating artists are invited to attend the auction at a substantially reduced ticket rate.
