“Get A Move On!,” a theatrical movement workshop, will be on the stage at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts, on Feb. 23 from 1-4 p.m.

This workshop is designed to help performers harness their ability to communicate using simple movements, gestures and staging techniques that will enhance their presence on the stage, and explore how to act with the entire body — not just the head. Bring a play to life using a combination of dance-based exercises and gesture work to explore how the artist tells stories on stage without needing to speak a single word. This class is also excellent for teachers, directors and designers. Come dressed prepared to move.

No prior dance experience is required. This is a workshop where all are welcome, regardless of physical limitations.

Instructor Monique Kleinhans has more than 18 years in professional theater. She has directed, performed and taught around the globe and is a core member of the Seattle-based touring company Theater Simple.

She is skilled in developing new works and leading ensemble-building writing and performance workshops. She also specializes in collaborative work and creating site-specific performance pieces for all ages.
