FLORENCE — Third-ranked Florence jumped on top-ranked Bigfork early, leading 17-6 after the first period en route to a 55-38 nonconference boys basketball victory matching Class B powerhouses Friday night.
Florence (17-1) held a 28-14 advantage at halftime.
Ryne Baerlocher led Florence offensively with 16 points.
Josh Sandry topped Bigfork (13-4) in scoring with 12 points.
The loss was the first for Bigfork against Class B competition this season.
Bigfork beat Florence earlier 49-44 in Bigfork.

COLUMBIA FALLS — Columbia Falls (11-5) scored 32 points in the opening quarter and rolled from there to an easy nonconference win over Class B Ronan.
Austin Martin tallied 15 points in the first quarter for Columbia Falls. He finished with 19, along with Luke Kazlauskas.
Martin hit three 3s in the first eight minutes.
Jared Trinastich had 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Wildcats.

The momentum changed in the second quarter when Polson held the Blue Devils scoreless to take a 20-15 halftime lead.

Andrea Getts had eight points and Ellie Johnson six off the bench for Columbia Falls (13-3) in the opening quarter. Getts finished with 14.
Haley Belgarde had a double-double for the Wildkats with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Ciera Finberg led Columbia Falls in assists with six.
