Soap Lake driver injured in crash

SNOQUALMIE PASS – A Soap Lake man was injured on Jan. 28 when his car collided with a truck two miles east of here on Interstate 90, the Washington State Patrol reports.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, the WSP said. Both drivers were using proper restraints.

The driver of the car was L Michael Jr., 33 of Soap Lake. He was transported to Overlake Hospital in Bellevue. His 2006 Dodge Sprint van was totaled and was hauled away.

The driver of the truck, a 2006 International slow plow, was Randy Conway, 59, of Cle Elum. He was uninjured. The truck sustained reportable damage but was driven from the scene.

According to the WSP, the car was westbound in lane 2 westbound. The truck was westbound in lane 1. The car went out of control, veered into lane 1 and struck the rear of the truck.

The WSP said the car was traveling too fast for the conditions.
