The first game of the weekend saw the Lady Vikings dominate play against the Chukars. BBCC jump up top early and took a 37-28 lead at the half. TVCC tried to make a game of it in the second half of play as the team put 33 points on the board. But the Lady Vikings countered with 40 points of their own to come away with a 16 point win.
Three BBCC players scored in double figures for the game. Alli Winters led the Lady Vikings charge with 29 points. Shaylyn Brown added 11, and Cristina Marlatt knocked down 10.
"This was a great confidence builder game for us. We had lost our last two league games, and I felt like our confidence was needing a boost, and this game really did that for us," coach Preston Wilks said. "We got up by as many as 24 in the second half and shot really well from the 3-point line. I feel the big lead became crucial for the next day, as I was able to give our starters a rest."
Rounding out the scoring for BBCC was Sierra Zollinger who jumped in 9 points. She also pulled down 12 rebounds. McKall Miller added 5 points, Hannah Smith and Jazlyn Nielsen scored 4 points each, Jessica Sorensen tallied 3 points, and Shanelle Hemmert finished with 2.

The Lady Vikings avenged a January home loss to Blue Mountain with a 6-point road win over the Timberwolves Saturday.
"The ladies really wanted to get this game as they have had sort of an empty feeling since we let the home game against Blue slip away from us," Wilks said. "I knew things were going to go well for us after the first five minutes of the game because they are really good at jumping on teams from the tip, but instead, we were up by 2 points.
BBCC held a slim 25-21 lead a the break, and was able to out score the Timberwolves 27-25 in the second half of play to eek out the win,
"Defensively, we did an amazing job on their star player Kim Pickett," Wilks said. "We forced her to go 3-for-24 on the night and held her to 8 points. That was the difference between tonight and the game in January, when she went off for 28 points against us."
Wilks said it took a great team effort to pull out the win.
"During the second half when we made our run, we had several starters resting on the bench and the ladies that came in did great," he said. "I was really happy for them because they really responded and took advantage of their moment."
The No. 8 ranked (NWAACC Joward Poll) Lady Vikings are back in action Wednesday when the team hosts Columbia Basin at 6 p.m.
