Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a Creston Hatchery Road property after receiving a report of a skinny hunting dog with its mouth wrapped shut with masking tape. The tape was taken off the dog’s muzzle, revealing no injuries underneath. A notice was left for the owner to contact an animal-control officer.

A man window shopping for a new car called 911 to report himself after he accidentally set off a car alarm. He told a dispatcher he didn’t want anyone to think he was trying to steal the vehicle.

A report of a suspicious vehicle in the driveway of a Creek Side Court home turned out to be a boy who was hiding the vehicle as he surprised his girlfriend — who lived next door — with an invitation to prom.

A Kalispell Police Department officer advised a dedicated man to move along after a woman reported he was stalking her and had followed her to the public defender’s office, where he was waiting for her in the parking lot. The man was forced to leave without knowing where she was going next, and she made plans to file for a restraining order the following day.

A youth was cited and released for being a minor in possession of a tobacco product after an observant motorist reported four youths standing in an Eighth Street West carport, smoking cigarettes that they were stealing out of an ashtray on the home’s porch.

A fed-up neighbor reported a bad smell coming from a First Avenue West apartment. The building’s manager spoke to the offending resident earlier that morning, and the resident was aware of the problem and was trying to take care of it.

A man was reported walking down the middle of Fifth Avenue East, swearing to himself and yelling. The person who reported the man said it was the third or fourth time it had happened in two weeks.

A group of four men with big white duffel bags were reported burglarizing vehicles on Fourth Avenue East.

A cellphone was stolen off the counter of an East Idaho Street business.
