Winter Trails Day at the Swan Ecosystem Center will be back for a second round on Feb. 23 because nearly half of the original group of snowshoers were unable to make the original date due to weather related reasons on Jan. 12.

The day will include information on several specific snowshoeing sites in the valley and brief discussions during the hike on equipment, safety and general snowshoeing techniques. The exact location will be announced, but will likely be in the Holland Lake area trails.

Snowshoers will meet at the USFS Condon Work Center and travel together to the site at 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Participants should bring a daypack, lunch, water, hat, gloves and watch the weather in case an extra layer of clothing may be needed during lunch.

The sign up deadline is Feb. 18, with a limit of 20 participants. There is no fee, but donations to Swan Ecosystem Center’s education program are appreciated. For more information and to sign up, call 754-3137.
