Police: Robbers hit hotel

COEUR d'ALENE - Two men entered the AmeriTel Inn-Coeur d'Alene Wednesday afternoon, said they had a gun and demanded cash from a front-desk clerk, police said.
The two men then fled the hotel, located at 333 W. Ironwood Drive, and headed east on foot. They were last seen near the Mountain West Bank parking lot at Government Way.
Sgt. Christie Wood, of the Coeur d'Alene Police Department, said no gun was displayed during the incident. She declined to say if the men got any cash.
She said detectives will review surveillance video of the robbery, and she said police planned to distribute it to the media. The men were not wearing masks, she said.
Late Wednesday, Coeur d'Alene police did arrest one suspect, Christopher M. Huckaby, 39, of Coeur d'Alene, for attempted robbery.
Wood said detectives followed up on a tip that led them to Huckaby.
Police initially set up a perimeter around the area of the hotel. A K-9 unit was called in but the dog lost the trail because of heavy traffic in the area, she said.
A representative of the hotel declined comment.
