Maynard Leroy Bolster, 79

Maynard Leroy Bolster, 79, passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at the Heritage Place in Kalispell. 

He was born on May 29, 1933, in Bismarck, N.D., to Fred J. and Thelma N. (Clark) Bolster. 

The family moved from Bismarck to Spokane before settling in the Flathead, where Maynard received his early education. He attended and graduated from Flathead County High School, where he enjoyed playing football. 

Maynard eventually owned and operated a few gas stations around the valley before opening Bolster’s Towing. He operated Bolster’s Towing from 1964 until 1999 when he sold the business. He worked with the new owners a few years before devoting most of his time to his hobbies and interests. 

Maynard had always been a sports enthusiast. He loved watching the Braves play and going to the Yankees’ training camps. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and spent some time bowling in a league.

Maynard was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Keith; and a nephew, Danny Holmes. 

He is survived by a brother, John “Jack” Bolster, and wife, Jullie; a sister, Marva Schmidt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Maynard will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Glacier Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Chapel.
