The search is on for a Kalispell woman who has been missing for nine days after failing to return from a trip to Sidney.
Nicole Waller, 31, left Kalispell Feb. 13 to travel to Sidney, according to her friend Christina Turner.
Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry confirmed that Waller’s car was found abandoned between Wolf Point and Poplar.
“She was reported missing on Saturday by another friend,” Turner said. “I called on Monday to find anything out and was the first one to be told that they had tagged her car abandoned.”
According to Turner, Waller suffers from a variety of maladies. Turner said Waller can’t walk very far or she gets dizzy and she has a stent in her head. While in Kalispell, Waller has a state-funded caretaker.
Along with Turner, Waller’s sister, mother and children are all left wondering where she is.
So far, the disappearance is being investigated by the Sidney Police Department, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office, the Montana Department of Criminal Investigations and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with Curry’s agency doing background work.
“We’ve provided a lot of information to them to assist in their follow-up as to her location,” Curry said. “We have an open missing-person case here and our assistance to them has not, as of yet, included sending manpower over there.”
