MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake resident Jasmyne DeBeaumont is the new executive director of the Moses Lake Business Association.

Current MLBA executive director Marianne Kirwan announced her resignation earlier this month. Her last day with the association is Feb. 28.

DeBeaumont's experience supporting business development and expansion in both Grant and Adams counties helped land her the position, according to a statement from the MLBA.

DeBeaumont helped support businesses and community organizations through her current position at the Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce. She also worked for the Prosperity Center in Moses Lake and helped new businesses open their doors as well as help existing businesses expand, according to the MLBA.

DeBeaumont is also a member of Power Partners of Grant County, a networking group for local business owners.

DeBeaumont said she is looking forward to working with businesses in Moses Lake.

"The business owners in our area work endless hours to bring such great services and products to us locally," she said. "I support our local businesses and know that new businesses will be emerging and with that comes more jobs and a greater sense of pride in what our town has to offer."

DeBeaumont said she hopes to help make sure downtown Moses Lake continues to grow.

"As executive director of the MLBA, I know with support from our board of directors, community and business owners that we will continue to strengthen our downtown, encourage growth and improve the overall quality of life for Moses Lake and the surrounding area," said DeBeaumont.

MLBA members also elected a new board of directors this week during a recent MLBA Nite Out event.

Bill Ecret, of KBSN/KDRM radio, was elected president and Lisa Boorman, of Red Door Consignment, was elected vice president.

Michaelle Boetger, of Michaelle Boetger Graphic Designs, will continue as secretary. Stroud Kunkle, of Sutter, Kunkle and Thompson, will continue as the association's treasurer.

Other officers elected to the board of directors include past MLBA board president Candi Jaeger; Bob Richardson, of the Columbia Basin Herald; Laura Mayer, of ARTGARDEN Pottery; Mike Berholf of American West Bank and Vern Hellewell.

Kirwan said she is confident in the newly elected board of directors.

"They'll do a great job as they press forward with the goals, initiatives and projects currently in place and make way for new and exciting things to come," said Kirwan.
