Woman's outfit gives her away

Saturday afternoon, a store employee on Hutton Ranch Road told the Kalispell Police Department that a 22-year-old woman was in custody for shoplifting. The woman ran from the store before police could arrive and the employee advised that she was wearing “ugly leopard skin pants” and a black hat and black coat. Officers chased the woman down and cited and released her.
A “suspicious vial” found in a yard on Second Avenue East turned out to be a broken toy hourglass.
Someone threw a rock through the window of a white Honda Accord on Grandview Drive.
Later that evening, a bike found in a mud puddle on First Avenue West was turned in to police.
A 60-year-old woman who lives across the hall walked into the apartment of a caller on Cooper Lane. A few nights ago the same woman was looking into her kids’ windows, the caller said.
Early Sunday, a Second Avenue East man told police there was a mini van parked in front of his house and an unknown man banging on the door and trying the handle to get in. Officers made contact with the man in front of the caller’s house and advised he was just drunk and disoriented.
A caller on College Avenue reported a heavy man in dark clothing hollering and screaming at mailboxes that he was going to kill someone. The man walked off toward Woodland Park and police could not locate him.
Someone broke into an office on South Main Street, a cleaning lady told police later Sunday morning.
A wallet, binoculars and an electronic cigarette case were reportedly stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Kirsten Drive.
A caller on First Avenue East North reported a friendly dog trying to get into the store. An officer took the black and brown Rottweiler mix to the animal shelter.
Saturday, a Seventh Street West woman complained to Columbia Falls Police that a neighbor’s dog keeps defecating on a vacant lot by her house. The woman said her neighbor claims it’s a stray dog making the mess and refuses to clean it up.
Whitefish Police took the keys of a reportedly drunk driver who was found sitting in his car at a gas station early Saturday morning.
Sunday, a drunk man asked police to come get three or four drunk people out of his hotel room so he could sleep. Calling from the lobby, the man said he didn’t know who the people were or how they got in. But when officers arrived, they found the caller had locked himself out of his own room and there was no one inside.
Saturday morning, Polson Police arrested someone at the hospital for assault with bodily fluids.
Deputies with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office arrested someone for partner family member assault on St. Mary’s Drive on Saturday.
