Richard Lee 'Dick' Halverson, 81

Richard Lee “Dick” Halverson, 81, of Newman Lake, Wash., passed away Feb. 10, 2013. He was born to the late Philip and Geneva Halverson on April 26, 1931, in Lewiston.

Dick lived in the Newman Lake area for the past 50 years and retired from Kaiser Aluminum at the Trentwood Rolling Facility with 30 years of service in the Maintenance Department. He spent his retirement years “tinkering around” on numerous projects around the house and enjoying the wildlife that wandered through his backyard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Philip and Harold Halverson; and his son, Steven Halverson. He is survived by his sister, Cledia Estes of Spokane; his sons, Kim Halverson of Kirkland, Wash., Jay Halverson of Kalispell, Mont., and Rick Halverson of Spokane; six grandchildren and his close friend, MaryLyn Cordell of Hauser Lake.

The family wishes to thank Spokane Valley Hospital for the outstanding care provided to Dick during his hospitalization.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane.
