Two students were expelled from Kalispell Public Schools at a special school board meeting Tuesday.

One case involved a Kalispell Middle School student who was 12 years old when found in possession of marijuana.

Kalispell Police Department School Resource Officer Cory Clarke has recommended charges of criminal distribution of dangerous drugs on or near school property, pending Youth Court findings.

The student is expelled for the remainder of the school year that ends June 6.

A Flathead High School ninth-grader was expelled for one calendar year for possession of prescription pills.

At the time of the incident, the student was 14.

Superintendent Darlene Schottle said the ninth-grader will be eligible for review in August to possibly return to school at the start of the first semester of the 2013-14 school year pending factors such as credit completion and probation compliance.
