Barbara Elaine Simon, 62
Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 12 years AGO
Barbara Elaine Simon passed away on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at her home in Kalispell.
Barb was born Feb. 8, 1950, to Fred and Etta Williams.
Her life travels began with a move to Billings with her family where she attended high school and college. She loved to explore, which led her and husband Rande, to live and work in Chicago, Boston, Houghton, Mich., and Jackson Hole, Wyo.
Along the way, two sons joined this trip through life, and everyone looked to “Mom” for love and support. With an empty nest, Barb led the way to Kalispell and her eventual retirement. She loved the outdoors, but her passions were cabinet making, and later woodcarving, at which she became an expert and taught others at the annual carving rendezvous near Glacier National Park.
Barb is survived by her husband, Rande; two sons, Kody or Brunswick, Maine, and Jeremy of Dickenson, N.D.; sister, Linda, of Arvada, Colo.; a hoard of nieces and nephews who loved their “Aunt B,” and an army of friends who will miss her intelligence, humor and quick wit.
An informal gathering of family and friends will be held at the Simon residence to remember Barb and celebrate her life from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Barb’s family. You are invited to go to www.jgfuneralhome.com to view Barb’s Tribute wall, offer condolences and share memories.
