THOMPSON FALLS - Prior to the holiday vacation, the Bluehawk wrestling squad traveled to compete at the Mission Mountian Classic wrestling tournament in St. Ignatius.

According to head coach Colby Cline, they were only able to take a handful of the usually high-numbered team due to the time of year and untimely injuries.

“We took only seven kids because of family vacations and injuries,” Coach Cline said. “But we still had a few place well.”

The two Bluehawk athletes that Coach Cline named were Braxton Eubanks, who took second in his heavyweight class, and John Gunderson, who took first place. Gunderson pinned every 140-pound athlete he matched up against in the tournament.

The Bluehawks look to keep their wrestling success going after the start of the new year.
