Holmquist to chair county commission

The Flathead County commissioners used their first meeting of 2013 to reorganize and decided Pam Holmquist will chair the commission this year.

It was Commissioner Gary Krueger’s first day on the job. He accepted assignments to seven committees and boards, including the Agency on Aging, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Solid Waste District, Transportation Advisory Board, Flathead Basin Commission, Resource Advisory Committee and the Flathead County Port Authority.

Holmquist will serve as the commission representative on the 911 Emergency Services Center and County Health boards, along with the Flathead River Commission, Flathead Regional Wastewater Management Group, Whitefish Community Wastewater Committee, Local Emergency Planning Committee, Audit Committee and the Montana West Economic Development board. Holmquist also will represent Flathead County for the Montana Coalition of Forest Counties.

Commissioner Cal Scott was appointed to a wide range of committees and boards, including the Child Development Center, DUI Task Force/Safe Kids, Safe Communities, 911 Funding Formula, Western Montana Regional Mental Health, Technical Advisory Committee, Western Montana Regional Juvenile Detention, Flathead County Chemical Dependency Clinic and Resource Conservation & Development.
