Williams helps Chiefs snap three-game skid

KENT, Wash. - Eric Williams made 34 saves for the Spokane Chiefs in a 5-2 win against the Seattle Thunderbirds in Western Hockey League action at the ShoWare Center in front of 4,191 on Saturday night.
The win snaps a three-game losing streak by Spokane.
Brenden Kichton and Mike Aviani had a goal and assist each and Todd Fiddler added two assists for Spokane, which outshot Seattle 50-36.
Spokane took a 1-0 lead after the first period on a goal by Dylan Walchuk. Seattle took a 2-1 lead midway through the second before Colin Valcourt's shot on an assist from Connor Chartier tied it at 2. Aviani's 19th goal of the season gave Spokane a 3-2 lead with 9:20 remaining in the second.
Blake Gal scored a power-play goal midway through the third and Kitchton capped the scoring less than two minutes later.
It was the first of three straight games between the two teams, with Spokane (25-13-1-0, 51 points) facing Seattle in Kent again Tuesday before returning home on Wednesday.
