Man arrested at casino for kidnapping

A 21-year-old Spokane man was arrested on Tuesday at the Coeur d'Alene Casino near Worley for kidnapping his estranged wife.
Andrey S. Yermola was booked into the Kootenai County jail for second-degree kidnapping, possessing a stolen pistol and unlawful possession of a firearm, all felonies, for allegedly kidnapping Margarita S. Yermola, 19, Spokane.
The victim told deputies that she and Andrey have been separated for the past six months, but when he asked her to meet him on Tuesday in Spokane she did.
"As soon as she got into their car, Andrey drove away with her," said Kootenai County sheriff's Lt. Stu Miller, adding that it's unknown why she agreed to meet with him, enter the vehicle and if he gave a reason for wanting to meet.
When she told him to let her out, Andrey allegedly refused and kept driving, eventually driving into Idaho, Miller said.
During the incident, Andrey stopped the car and allegedly threw out a stolen pistol where Highway 58 connects with U.S. 95 on the Idaho side. Andrey had been carrying the pistol, but he never threatened Margarita with it, Miller said.
"She never saw the pistol until he stopped and threw it," he said.
The pistol, stolen out of Spokane, was recovered using a K-9 unit.
When they arrived at the casino, Andrey left her in the car and went inside. At that point, Margarita fled the car and contacted casino security about 4 p.m.
Deputies found Andrey inside the casino and was taken into custody without incident. He declined to speak with deputies about the alleged incident.
Miller said there has been multiple allegations of domestic abuse in the relationship.
Spokane Police is investigating any incidents that led up to the kidnapping.
