The Glacier boys are ranked atop the state for the first time in school history, coming in at No. 1 in the newest Class AA prep basketball rankings.

The Wolfpack moved up two spots from No. 3 after top-ranked Missoula Hellgate lost to Stevensville mid-week. Glacier was given the nod for the top spot over No. 2 Great Falls C.M. Russell, which the Wolfpack beat earlier this season, and No. 3 Billings Skyview.

Hellgate dropped three spots to fourth and Billings West took the fifth spot. Flathead, which was fifth last week, was the only other team to receive votes.

In Class A, Whitefish jumped up to No. 4 after its big upset of rival Columbia Falls. The Wildcats, losers of three straight, fell out of the poll but still received votes.

Laurel remains the top team in Class A, while Stevensville holds on at No. 2, picking up a first-place vote after its win over Hellgate. Defending champion Dillon comes in at No. 3 and Butte Central, which has only lost to the top three teams, is ranked fifth.

Bigfork moved up three spots to No. 2 in the Class B poll after its win over Florence. The Vikings received one first place vote and were one point shy of a tie for the top spot, held for the second straight week by Rocky Boy.

Malta came in at third, in front of Florence and Forsyth in the top five. Fairfield, Columbus, Whitehall, Missoula Loyola and Manhattan rounded out the top 10.

Defending champion Fairview took 8 of 9 first place votes to top the Class C poll.

In the girls polls, Columbia Falls tumbled from the top spot to No. 3 in Class A, after the Wildkats lost twice this week, both to AA schools.

Hamilton took over No. 1 in Class A, ahead of Butte Central. Frenchtown and Dillon rounded out the top five.

The Glacier girls received votes in the AA poll, but were unable to crack the top 5. Missoula Sentinel continued to carry the top spot in the top division.

Townsend took the top spot in Class B, ahead of Fairfield. Eureka received votes.

Grass Range-Winnett took the top spot in Class C.
